Planning for the preliminary task

Here are the inital ideas for my college magazine and its contents page:

• The main picture will infront of the masthead as it is more important then i title, it shows the reader who is in the magazine
• There will be a maximum of 3 colours so the page doesn't look like it is contrasting with the pictures or the text
• I will only have one picture on the front page, so all the other smaller pictures are on the contents page
• The contents page will be in 3 columns, this is so it is very neat and not all over the place
• There will be a writer's column on the contents page, this looks more professional because it is like the writer of the magazine has something to say to the readers
• The main page will have some of the main story's on the front, so the reader knows what is going to be inside the magazine
• The main picture will be of people from around the college, as it is a college magazine and it makes more sense then having people off the streets on the main page
• The story's that are on the contents page, will be problems that are in college at the moment like 'what jobs are on in the world at the minute'
• The masthead will be big and bold, so the reader knows what the magazine is 
• I will have three pictures on the contents page, one being a picture of the writer, next to the writers message, and the other two will be of people from around college
